HYPERJOINT® - Double-sided, extremely high-performance acrylic foam adhesive tape

Nitto Denko H7000, H8000 and H9000 Series are double-sided adhesive tapes that have excellent adhesion, heat resistance and durability thanks to the flexible acrylic foam core. The adhesive tapes have a vibration-damping effect and can also be used as a seal (e.g. housing cover). Thanks to the industry-standard adhesive used, the adhesive tapes achieve the highest adhesive forces even on low-energy surfaces and have an extremely good shear strength even at elevated temperatures of up to 100°C.

HYPERJOINT® - GH series in white, black and transparent

Nitto has once again expanded its existing range of high-performance double-sided adhesive tapes (H series). The acrylic foam adhesive tapes combine very high adhesive strength with excellent shear resistance on a wide variety of substrates. The new GH series can now be ordered in white, black or transparent to suit the application. The transparent version in particular can be used to create almost invisible adhesive bonds.

The transparent version in particular considerably expands the possibilities of the Hyperjoint series. It can be used to bond transparent objects such as glass partition elements, façade components, glass doors or backlit advertising surfaces almost invisibly. The GH series is suitable for indoor and outdoor use .

Thermally conductive, double-sided adhesive tapes from the TR series

The thermally conductive adhesive tapes in the TR series are characterized by their high adhesive strength. This means they can also be used as the sole means of fastening. The material thickness of up to 0.5 mm compensates for minor mechanical tolerances. The adhesive optimally wets the surface and thus displaces air from the heat path. The dielectric strength is completely sufficient for normal applications. According to the manufacturer, the tapes are RoHS-compliant and some tapes comply with fire protection classification UL94-V0. Some products are listed under UL file E52859.

Double-sided adhesive tapes for repellent, low-energy (LSE) surfaces (Nitto 5005T)

Polyolefins in particular, such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide or UHMW, but also other repellent surfaces (LSE, low surface energy) are difficult to bond. In addition, not all applications require the rather expensive silicone adhesives that traditionally bond to repellent surfaces. Nitto 5005T is a linerless acrylate-based transfer adhesive film that also offers good adhesion to such surfaces.

As the transparent acrylate transfer adhesive Nitto 5005T consists exclusively of adhesive (50µm), PE foams, cellular rubber and nonwovens made of PE, PA or PP, for example, remain very flexible. Even in subsequent forming processes (thermoforming, embossing, pressing), the transfer adhesive produces a good bond.

Products equipped with Nitto 5005T can also be die-cutted very well. The transfer adhesive is supplied with either a brown 120 gr/m² silicone paper or a white PE-coated paper (125 gr/m²). Thanks to the good instant adhesion, the material and adhesive can be laminated together immediately before the die-cutting process.

Nitto FMT-305W10 is considerably thicker with a thickness of 1 mm. This stable, cross-linked polypolefin foam has an adhesive on both sides. The adhesive used is very strong and can also be used on low-energy surfaces (PA, PE, PP). The flexible material has excellent resistance to restoring forces, dampens vibrations and also adheres well to uneven surfaces. The transfer adhesive FMT-305W10 is particularly popular as a mirror adhesive tape, as the adhesive tape also adheres to melamine or other finished surfaces, for example.

Summary:

  • Double-sided adhesive

  • Good adhesion even on repellent surfaces and plastics

  • Flexible and temperature-stable (no rigid carrier such as PET film)

  • Shear-resistant, especially FMT-305W10, compensates for unevenness in the surface

  • Use as mirror masking tape (Nitto FMT-305W10)

  • Self-adhesive finishing of foams, fleeces and fabrics made of repellent materials

  • Production of laminates in lightweight construction and for composite materials

  • Easy to punch thanks to white 125 gr/m² PE-coated paper

Low-odour, double-sided adhesive tapes, also suitable for repellent surfaces

The LE series (Low Energy Surfaces) from the Nittoprogram bundles double-sided adhesive tapes with a particularly low VOC content. As a result, they are low in odor (comply with VDA 278, odor analysis, Fresenius; Low Emission test), produce hardly any precipitation on e.g. glass surfaces (fogging) and fully comply with the RoHS Directive.

The modified acrylate adhesive used also adheres to low-energy surfaces (i.e. surfaces that have a repellent effect, such as PA, PE, PP). Thanks to the non-woven backing, the double-sided adhesive tapes in the LE range are very flexible and can also be applied well to curved surfaces. Thanks to the high temperature resistance (SAFT = temperature at which adhesive fails under shear stress: 175°C [@225mm², 200gr]) and the low release of volatile components, this strong, ageing-resistant adhesive tape is mainly used in the automotive industry. It is used, for example, as an adhesive tape for fastening plastic parts, foams and materials in the interior. Due to its low volatile content (VOC), it is also suitable for bonding glazing bars on windows and doors, for example. The non-woven backing is stretchable and does not compress. The double-sided adhesive tapes in the LE range are also easy to die-cut and are therefore often used directly as a finished die-cut part.

Summary:

  • Double-sided adhesive, also suitable for low-energy surfaces

  • Very low emission of VOCs or formaldehyde

  • Produces almost no precipitation (fogging)

  • Only very slight odor (smell)

  • Flexible fleece backing, therefore conforms well to curved surfaces

  • Highly temperature-resistant (e.g. vehicle roof area)

  • Strong adhesion, resistant to ageing, suitable for all mounting applications

  • Also suitable for bonding foams, nonwovens and fabrics
