Dehesive surfaces are used wherever the adhesion of substances must be avoided. They enable the demolding of e.g. GRP components, the sealing of roasting rods during baking or the separation of sticky resin sheets in the chemical industry. CMC Klebetechnik offers different versions of release films.

The various films with separating properties can be cut individually or cut into customer-specific shapes on sheet cutting machines and flatbed plotters.

The polyester release films use stable 50 µm thick PET films that are coated on one or both sides with a migration-free silicone release system. Different dehesive release forces are even possible if required. Polyester films are particularly suitable for

  • Thin laminates and coatings

  • Thin cast parts made of plastic

  • When very smooth surfaces are required

  • Applications in which a mechanically stable film is required

Example: CMC 29550 , one-sided siliconized polyester film, 50µm

As a special variant, polyester release films are also available with a silicone-free anti-adhesive coating. These can even be used as release films in the area of silicone resins.

Example: CMC 29651 coated on both sides, 50µm PET film

The excellent anti-adhesiveness of the surface of the elastic release liners is due to the material used. Similarly Teflon® (PTFE) from DuPont the very low surface energy prevents adhesion. The ETFE release films of CMC are transparent, unlike PTFE, so that the potting process can be observed.

These high-performance release liners are

  • Elastic and stretchable (e.g. thermoforming, > 300%)

  • Transparent, therefore good optical process control

  • have excellent peelability

  • are suitable for almost all resin systems (e.g. PUR, epoxy, PMMA, polyester, acrylic)

  • have extremely good tear and tear propagation resistance

  • can withstand high temperatures (melting temperature 260°C)

  • silicone-free and do not release any undesirable substances

  • Can also be used for vacuum or pressure impregnation

  • Thermally weldable for very large components

ETFE release films are also often used as high-quality, highly age-resistant anti-graffiti films.

Example: CMC 77707 , highly stretchable, tear-resistant film, repellent and silicone-free on both sides, 40 µm ETFE

Areas of application for release films from CMC Klebetechnik are, for example

  • when forming and crimping prepreg-insulated conductors

  • in the manufacture of multilayer printed circuit boards

  • the manufacture of GRP and CFRP components

  • Release film for sticky resins and waxes

  • Protection against adhesion in the rubber industry (e.g. rubber)

  • in the chemical industry as packaging film for highly adhesive products

  • the vacuum infusion process or the rich resin process

  • in the manufacture of fiber composite assemblies

  • the production of adhesive tapes (cover film for adhesive side)
