Adhesive tapes for thermal class F
up to 155°C continuous operating temperature
The adhesive tapes of thermal class F withstand temperatures from approx. -20°C to 155°C in continuous operation. Kapton®, Nomex®, glass fabric and Teonex® adhesive tapes in particular are available in this thermal class. Special versions are also available upon request. In thermal class F, Teonex® film is now found alongside the classic insulation materials glass fabric, Nomex® and Kapton®. Originally developed for higher-quality flexible printed circuits, the material is now frequently used as an aroma barrier in PET plastic bottles. PEN (polyether naphthalate) is particularly suitable for the electrical industry due to its higher temperature resistance compared to polyester (155°C continuous temperature instead of 130°C). Teonex® is also superior to classic polyester (Mylar®, Hostaphan®) in aging tests under difficult conditions (dirt, moisture) because it is more hydrolysis-resistant and diffusion-proof. In terms of processing, polyester adhesive tapes and Teonex adhesive tapes do not differ.
For class F insulation systems, the CMC 61xxx series of tapes (CMC 61100, CMC 61200) are the appropriate solution.

Information on the breakdown voltage is always given at an operating frequency of 50/60 Hz. At higher frequencies, the dielectric strength is reduced depending on the material.
