Adhesive tapes for thermal class H

up to 180°C continuous operating temperature

For applications where exceptionally high heat is applied to the tape, CMC has developed several highly heat-resistant tapes.

Driven by a wide variety of customer requirements, a new heat-resistant adhesive tape was developed again and again from temperature-resistant base materials.

Of course, glass fabrics are ideally suited to be the basis for a heat-resistant adhesive tape. But high-performance films made of PEI (Ultem®) or PI (Kapton®) are also ideal carriers for heat-resistant adhesive tapes.

Of course, an adhesive tape also needs the appropriate adhesive. For continuous temperatures up to 180°C, CMC Klebetechnik uses very high-performance acrylate adhesives. However, if even higher temperature resistance is required, there is no getting around a highly heat-resistant adhesive.

Thus, all highly heat-resistant adhesive tapes from CMC carry a polysiloxane adhesive. Only with this type of adhesive do you get a truly heat-resistant adhesive tape that can even withstand temperatures of up to 350°C.

Such special adhesive tapes are used in high-performance engines, where sufficient reserve must be available even in the event of a malfunction. Or in stoving processes in the paint industry, for example, when parts of a housing must not be painted. In such cases, these heat-resistant adhesive tapes can even be removed again without leaving any residue. Heating elements are also often insulated with heat-resistant adhesive tape to ensure the longest possible service life of the adhesive bond.

When it comes to extreme conditions, heat-resistant adhesive tapes from CMC Klebetechnik are ideal.

A thermal class H adhesive tape must withstand particularly high thermal loads. For this reason, we only use first-class original products from renowned manufacturers of Kapton®, Nomex® and glass fabric for this class. For requirements that require, for example, a higher corona resistance (creep-stome resistance), we also offer various fluoropolymer adhesive tapes (FEP, PTFE) on request.

Information on the breakdown voltage is always given at an operating frequency of 50/60 Hz. At higher frequencies, the dielectric strength is reduced depending on the material.
